Good bye personal belongings…

by yorchi on May.01, 2009, under Uncategorized

The movers came by today and packed up everything I could live without until I leave out of here…

Here’s the actual crate containing all of my things.  It’s considered an express shipment and will be flown to Sacramento sometime next week and should hopefully be there by the end of the month…

The light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger and bigger…

New Tattoo!

by yorchi on Apr.23, 2009, under Uncategorized

For those of you that have never felt the joy of getting a tattoo…especially in a very sensitive area such as the ribs…I strongly recommend that you do.  It is definitely a feeling one must feel at least once in their lifetime.

The pain isn’t unbearable, or enough to make you cry or tear up.  But it will make your body tighten up and you will definitely question whether you made the right choice or not.

Well I don’t regret my tattoo.  I really like it.  The pain was manageable but my friend did catch me flinching and grimacing a few times because it got me at just the right spot.

For those that don’t know what it means, it stands for ‘Kazoku’, or ‘Family’…

Rabble rabble rabble!!!

by yorchi on Apr.19, 2009, under Uncategorized

My calves hurt a little bit still from our 6 mile run on Friday.  It wasn’t so much a hard run as it was just painful on the joints.  We were the last company in the formation so we had to do alot of speeding up and slowing down suddenly whenever we went around any kind of a turn.

The last few weeks have been pretty uneventful.  Lots of work, followed by nothing to do besides the gym or running.  I really wish I had whatever part of the mind those gym freaks have.  I like going and I know I should go regularly but it seems I always find whatever reason I can to tell myself it’s okay not to go and that I’ll eventually make up for it…but I never do.

I’m really looking forward to just getting out of here.  I had an okay time here but my heart was never really into it.  I know I cut the Squadron and my Marines short on some things but I really can’t put my entire effort into it when everything I have to live for is back home waiting for me to come back.  I’m so proud of my wife for doing everything that she has done all by herself.  I always knew she had it in her, and while I never wanted to put her in that situation, I’m glad that she pulled through and hopefully realizes now that she is just as strong if not stronger than I am.  I know she can do anything now, and she knows it as well.

Well I think I’m going to go hit up our makeshift gym here at the barracks.  I am gonna go on a quick run again this morning just to make sure I keep my legs active since all I do in my room is listen to music and play video games.

I took the following picture sometime last week when we went out to eat with Sgt. Rendon.  It’s a fake flower I saw in a flower pot outside of a store.  I didn’t think it would come out this nice, but like with just about everything else I do, I never realize it until the moment is over…

Do over!

by yorchi on Apr.04, 2009, under Uncategorized

Okay I know no one has even seen this site so why bother explaining…but I will anyways

I messed up my install of the site so I had them start over…and rather than try and update from the last time, I’ll just start fresh…

Today was a gloomy rainy day.  We had planned on attending the Kintai Cherry Blossom Festival but well we got rained in.  I was really looking forward to taking out my camera and finally using it again.  I spent the money on it, and I’ve only used it once when we went to Hiroshima.  So because of that, we did what we always do on Saturdays…nothing!

I went to the store in the morning to get some food and look around.  I did end up buying myself another wedding band since my first one was eaten up by my softball mit many years ago.  I bought a new one, a titanium band that looks really nice.  I’m happy.

I looked at the clothes as well.  I wanted to buy maybe a shirt or two and some pants, but I didn’t really see anything I liked enough to buy.  And the few things I did see were priced way too high.  Maybe it’s cause I don’t buy clothes that often, but I am definitely not paying 80 bucks for a polo shirt.  Sorry!

So my day a bust, I set out to conquer the Halo universe yet again.  I played for quite a bit, chatted online, and took a nap or two.  Finally at about 9pm we got hungry again so we went out to the “Old Man” bar where I got a burger and drank some Long Islands.  What little buzz I had was quickly mopped up with the food and I just gave up and called it a night.

So now I’m off to bed.  Gonna try and wake up semi-early tomorrow so I can do my laundry and get a run in as well.  Hopefully I don’t get lazy again, cause I really need to get back into a semi-decent running shape.
